The Blog
The main objective of this blog is personal development. Currently, that is taking the form of daily gratitude posts. Each day I will write three things I am grateful for, that brought me happiness, that made life a little easier to live. Some days will be nothing but three words, some days will be long-form pieces. It’s a new adventure and I’m completely unsure of what to expect.

The Writer
My name is Ruby Pipes. I’m a recovering alcoholic and have bipolar disorder.

I’ve always been a writer. Writing, for me, has been a way to sort out my head when nothing else makes sense. I use it as a tool for growth, understanding, and sometimes just to make myself feel like I’m not going crazy. Though I’ve been blogging in some form or another since the early 2000s, this is my first attempt at being truly honest about it.

Since I started this blog in November 2014 I have strived to be vulnerable and open in my writing. To always truthly depict how difficult it can be to just exist. It hasn’t been easy, mostly it is downright terrifying, but it’s also what’s made it possible to grow such a loving and supportive community.
